How much does it cost to apply/register for the exam?
The cost of the exam is as follows: a non refundable application fee of $40, a registration examination fee of $200, and a service fee of $150 payable to the Prometric administration facility. The new, computerized Patent Bar exams are administered by Prometric who specializes in professional exams.

How do I schedule my exam?
Once you have submitted your admissions form and have been accepted to take the Patent Bar exam, you will have a 90-day window during which time you must schedule your exam with the testing center. You must go to:

and sign up to take the exam at a location nearest you. The exam is offered every day at a certain time, so all you need to do is pick a day.

How do I get my results?
Immediately after taking the exam you will get a preliminary pass/fail, but it will take a few weeks to receive your official notification of whether you passed or failed. If you fail the exam, you will not be allowed to re-take it for 60-days.

Should I start your course before applying?
Once you are registered with the USPTO, you will have only 90 days to take the exam at one of the Prometric testing centers. Therefore, it is important to start studying before you register, so that you never have to worry about being unprepared when the testing deadline hits. About 10 days before you finish your studies you should schedule your exam with Prometric. This will increase your selection of both days and locations at which to take the exam.

I have a degree in ______, am I qualified to take the exam?
To be admitted to the examination, each individual must demonstrate possession of the required scientific and technical training. You must qualify under one of the following categories:
Category A
Bachelor’s Degree in a Recognized Technical Subject: An Applicant will be considered to have the necessary scientific and technical training if he or she provides an official transcript showing that a Bachelor’s degree was awarded in one of the following subjects by an accredited United States college or university, or that the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree was awarded by a foreign university in one of the following subjects:

Other Bachelor Degrees
Degrees in subjects, such as Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, and Mechanical Technology, not listed above must qualify under Category B below.
Graduate Degrees
Applicants who have a Master’s or higher level degree in one of the subject areas listed above, but do not have a Bachelor’s degree in such subject, must qualify under Category B below.
Category B
An Applicant with a Bachelor’s degree in a subject other than one of those listed in Category A, must establish that he or she possesses scientific and technical training equivalent to that received at an accredited U.S. college or university for a Bachelor’s degree in one of the subjects listed in Category A. To establish such equivalence, an Applicant can satisfy one of the following four options, other training, or other education listed below.
Option 1
24 semester hours in physics. Only physics courses for physics majors will be accepted.
Option 2
32 semester hours in a combination consisting of the following: 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics, and 24 semester hours in biology, botany, microbiology, or molecular biology. The 8 semester hours in chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics must be obtained in two sequential semesters, each semester including a lab. Only courses for science or engineering majors will be accepted.
Option 3
30 semester hours in chemistry. Only chemistry courses for chemistry majors will be accepted.
Option 4
40 semester hours in a combination consisting of the following: 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics, and 32 semester hours of chemistry, physics, biology, botany, microbiology, molecular biology, or engineering (for Computer Science see other acceptable course work). The 8 semester hours of chemistry or 8 semester hours of physics must be obtained in two sequential semesters, each semester including a lab. Only courses for science or engineering majors will be accepted. For Computer Science, see “Other Acceptable Course Work.” All acceptable coursework for Options 2 and 4 must be for science or engineering majors.

I do not have any patent law experience, can I still take your course?
Our course is designed to take you step-by-step from zero knowledge of the Manual of Patent Examination Procedure (MPEP), the manual on which the entire exam is based, to being an expert on the topics contained in it that are important on the patent bar exam.

How much time do I get to study with your course?
You will have 6 months of course access in which to complete our 60 day guided study program. If you need more time than that to prepare we will be more than happy to provide you with more time – just let us know. Additionally, if something happens that prevents you from studying for a prolonged period of time, simply email us at admin@omnipreppatent.com and let us know and we will be happy to suspend your access, which stops the 6 month countdown, until you are ready to study again because our goal is for you to pass the patent bar exam.

How long does your course take to complete?
If you have no background at all, it will take 60 days, with about 2 hours of study per day on average, to complete our course. Thus, it will take about 120 hours in all to go from zero knowledge to expert on the material tested in the patent bar exam. If you have some sort of background in patent law then you can complete our course in as little as 90 hours of study.

What does Patent Attorney do?
A patent attorney litigates patent cases in the federal court system, and represents clients
applying for a patent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Patent
attorneys can open their own practice, work in a law firm, or as
in-house council for corporations, in the engineering, biotech, technology or pharmaceutical fields.
